In that day YHWH made a covenant with Abram, saying, “I have given this land to your offspring, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates:


He defeated Moab, and measured them with the line, making them to lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. The Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.


Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. YHWH gave victory to David wherever he went.


“Your father made our yoke difficult. Now therefore make the hard service of your father, and his heavy yoke which he put on us, lighter, and we will serve you.”


I have also given you what you did not ask for, both riches and honor, so that there will not be any among the kings like you for all your days.


Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty cors of fine flour, sixty measures of meal,


For he had dominion over all on this side the River, from Tiphsah even to Gaza, over all the kings on this side the River; and he had peace on all sides around him.


Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against him, and Hoshea became his servant and paid him tribute.


Therefore YHWH established the kingdom in his hand. All Judah brought tribute to Jehoshaphat, and he had riches and honor in abundance.


Many brought gifts to YHWH to Jerusalem, and precious things to Hezekiah king of Judah, so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations from then on.


There have also been mighty kings over Jerusalem who have ruled over all the country beyond the River; and tribute, custom, and toll was paid to them.


Because of your temple at Jerusalem, kings will bring presents to you.


Y’all are to make vows to YHWH your* God, and fulfill them! Let all who are around ʜɪᴍ bring tribute to the one who is to be feared.


I will set your borders from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River. I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into y’all’s hand, and you will drive them out before you.


For who can eat, or who can have enjoyment, more than I?


How the city sits solitary, that was full of people! She has become as a widow, who was great among the nations! She who was a princess among the provinces has become a slave!


Thus you were decked with gold and silver. Your clothing was of fine linen, silk, and embroidered work. You ate fine flour, honey, and oil. You were exceedingly beautiful, and you prospered to royal estate.


Every place where the sole of your* foot treads will be y’all’s. Y’all’s territory will be from the wilderness to Lebanon, from the river Euphrates to the Mediterranean sea.


From the wilderness and this Lebanon even to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the great sea toward the going down of the sun, will be y’all’s border.


But certain worthless fellows said, “How could this man save us?” They despised him, and brought him no tribute. But he held his peace.
