Joram said, “Get ready!” They got his chariot ready. Then Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot; and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him on Naboth the Jezreelite’s land.


Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up, and throw him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how, when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, YHWH laid this burden on him:


In the time of his distress, he trespassed yet more against YHWH, this same King Ahaz.


Yet the people have not turned to him who struck them, neither have they sought YHWH Almighty.


YHWH, don’t your eyes look on truth? You have stricken them, but they were not grieved. You have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than a rock. They have refused to return.


They covet fields and seize them, and houses, then take them away. They oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.


Their border was to Jezreel, Chesulloth, Shunem,


Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east assembled themselves together; and they passed over, and encamped in the valley of Jezreel.


Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek; and the Israelites encamped by the spring which is in Jezreel.
