Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I don’t make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time!”


Then King Solomon swore by YHWH, saying, “May God do to me and even more also, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life.


Therefore he said to the messengers of Ben Hadad, “Y’all must tell my lord the king, ‘Everything you requested of your servant the first time I will do, but this thing I cannot do.’” The messengers left and brought him back the message.


How then can you turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master’s servants, and put your trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?


Then he said, “May God deal with me, and even more so, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat stays on him today.”
