The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook.


The Angel of YHWH came again the second time, and touched him, and said, “Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you.”


All of Mount Sinai smoked, because YHWH descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.


Moses entered into the middle of the cloud, and went up on the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.


Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.


He was there with YHWH forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread, nor drank water. He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.


YHWH said to Aaron, “Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” He went, and met him on God’s mountain, and kissed him.


At the end of ten days, their faces appeared fairer and they were fatter in flesh than all the youths who ate of the king’s delicacies.


When he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was famished.


He was there in the wilderness for forty days, tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels were serving him.


where for forty days, he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days, and when they had ended, he was very hungry.


But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” So then, I will gladly boast all the more in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.


I fell down before YHWH, as at the first, forty days and forty nights. I did not eat bread or drink water, because of all y’all’s sin which y’all committed, doing what was evil in YHWH’s sight and provoking ʜɪᴍ to anger.
