She said, “As YHWH your God lives, I don’t have anything baked, but only a handful of meal in a jar and a little oil in a jar. I am gathering two sticks, so that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”


Then the word of YHWH came to him, saying,


After many days, the word of YHWH came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, “Go, show yourself to Ahab; and I will send rain on the earth.”


As YHWH your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent to seek you. When they said, ‘He is not here,’ he took an oath of the kingdom and nation that they didn’t find you.


Elijah said, “As YHWH Almighty lives, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself to him today.”


Micaiah said, “As YHWH lives, what YHWH says to me, that I will speak.”


“When the sky is shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against you, if they pray toward this place and confess your name, and turn from their sin when you afflict them,


But the Angel of YHWH said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Get up and go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and tell them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that y’all are going to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron?


Elisha said, “As YHWH Almighty lives, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I respect the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward you, nor see you.


Elisha came again to Gilgal. There was a famine in the land, and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him. He said to his servant, “Get the large pot and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”


But he said, “As YHWH lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none.” He urged him to take it; but he refused.


But Gehazi the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “Look, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, by not receiving from his hands what he brought. As YHWH lives, I will run after him, and take something from him.”


A letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, “YHWH, the God of David your father, says, ‘Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,


“When the sky is shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against you, if they pray toward this place and confess your name, and turn from their sin when you afflict them,


See how ʜᴇ withholds the waters, and they dry up. Again, ʜᴇ sends them out, and they overturn the earth.


Lift up your eyes all around, and see: all of them gather together and come to you. As I live,” declares YHWH, “you will surely clothe yourself with them all as with an ornament, and dress yourself with them like a bride.


I will lay it a wasteland. It won’t be pruned or hoed, but it will grow briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.”


Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the sky give showers? Aren’t you he, YHWH our God? Therefore we will wait for you; for you have made all these things.


Therefore YHWH says, “If you return, then I will return you, so that you may stand before me. If you take out the precious from the vile, you will be as my mouth. They will return to you, but you will not return to them.


The prophets who have been before me and before you of old prophesied against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, of evil, and of pestilence.


Therefore because of y’all the heavens have withheld their dew, and the earth has withheld its fruit.


If y’all are willing to accept it, he is Elijah, who was to come.


They said, “Some say John the Baptizer, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”


When some of the bystanders heard this, they said, “This man is calling for Elijah.”


But the rest of them said, “Let him be. Let’s see whether Elijah comes to save him.”


for he taught them with authority, unlike the scribes.


And he will go before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the parents to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”


The angel answered him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God. I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.


But y’all be watchful at all times, praying that y’all may be counted worthy to escape all that is about to happen, and to stand before the Son of Humanity.”


Two men, Moses and Elijah, began talking with him.


As they were starting to leave Jesus, Peter said to him, “Master, it is excellent for us to be here. Let’s make three tents: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”—not knowing what he was saying.


When his disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to call fire to come down from heaven to destroy them?”


They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” He answered, “No.”


So they asked him, “Then why do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”


Last night, an angel from the God I belong to and serve stood beside me


God didn’t reject ʜɪꜱ people, whom ʜᴇ foreknew. Or don’t y’all know what the Scripture says about Elijah? How he pleads with God against Israel:


At that time YHWH set apart the tribe of Levi to bear the ark of YHWH’s covenant, to stand before YHWH to minister to ʜɪᴍ, and to bless in ʜɪꜱ name, to this day.


Elijah was a human like us. He prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it didn’t rain on the earth for three years and six months.


They have the power to shut up the sky, so that rain will not fall during the days of their prophecy. They hold power over the waters to turn them into blood and to strike the earth with every plague as often as they want.


Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim. The men of Gilead struck Ephraim, because they said, “Y’all Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim, in the middle of Ephraim, and in the middle of Manasseh.”
