But the word of God came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,


When the prophet who brought him back from the way heard of it, he said, “It is the man of God who was disobedient to the word of YHWH. Therefore YHWH has delivered him to the lion, which has mauled him and slain him, according to the word of YHWH which he spoke to him.”


For the message that he cried by the word of YHWH against the altar in Bethel and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, will happen-happen.”


The altar was also split apart, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of YHWH.


for so was it commanded me by the word of YHWH, saying, ‘You must eat no bread, drink no water, and don’t return by the way that you came.’”


A certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow by the word of YHWH, “Please strike me!” The man refused to strike him.


Moreover the altar that was at Bethel and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, even that altar and the high place he broke down; and he burned the high place and beat it to dust, and burned the Asherah.


Then he said, “What monument is that which I see?” The men of the city told him, “It is the tomb of the man of God who came from Judah and proclaimed these things that you have done against the altar of Bethel.”


But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up, so that he did corruptly and he trespassed against YHWH his God, for he went into the temple of YHWH to burn incense on the altar of incense.


They resisted Uzziah the king, and said to him, “It isn’t for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to YHWH, but for the priests the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary, for you have trespassed. It will not be for your honor from YHWH God.”


Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, aren’t they written in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?


Then the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem will go and cry to the gods to which they offer incense, but they will not save them at all in the time of their trouble.


From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, these twenty-three years, the word of YHWH has come to me, and I have spoken to y’all again and again, but y’all have not listened.


The Chaldeans, who fight against this city, will come and set this city on fire, and burn it with the houses on whose roofs they have offered incense to Baal, and poured out drink offerings to other gods, to provoke me to anger.


but don’t prophesy again any more at Bethel; for it is the king’s sanctuary, and it is a royal house!”


Now therefore listen to the word of YHWH: ‘You say, Don’t prophesy against Israel, and don’t preach against the house of Isaac.’


For from the rising of the sun even to its going down, my name will be great among the nations. In every place incense and a pure offering will be offered to my name, for my name will be great among the nations,” says YHWH Almighty.


to be a memorial to the children of Israel, to the end that no stranger who isn’t of the offspring of Aaron, would come near to burn incense before YHWH, that he not be as Korah and as his company; as YHWH spoke to him by Moses.


We tell y’all this according to the word of the Lord: those who remain alive until the coming of the Lord will not precede those who have fallen asleep.


Another angel came and stood over the altar, holding a golden censer. He was given much incense so that he could give it toward the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne.


A man of God came to Eli and said to him, “YHWH says, ‘Did I reveal-reveal myself to the house of your father when they were in Egypt in bondage to Pharaoh’s house?


The servant said to him, “Look, there is a man of God in this city, and he is a man who is held in honor. All that he says happens-happens. Let’s go there now. Perhaps he can tell us which way to go.”
