from the nations about which YHWH said to the children of Israel, “Y’all must not intermarry with them, and they must not intermarry with y’all, because they will certainly turn away y’all’s heart after their gods.” But Solomon clung to them in love.


because they have forsaken me, and have worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon. They have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in my eyes, and to keep my statutes and my ordinances, as David his father did.


If you will listen to all that I command you, and walk in my ways, and do that which is right in my eyes, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did, then I will be with you, and will build you a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to you.


The time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.


Solomon did that which was evil in YHWH’s sight, and didn’t go fully after YHWH, as David his father did.


YHWH was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from YHWH, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,


Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which YHWH had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. His mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess.


But the high places were not taken away. Nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect with YHWH all his days.


He walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with YHWH his God, as the heart of David his father.


Solomon loved YHWH, walking in the statutes of David his father, except that he sacrificed and burned incense in the high places.


In the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the house of YHWH.


“Y’all are to be wholly hearted in devotion to YHWH our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as it is today.”


At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, the house of YHWH and the king’s house


As for you, if you will walk before me as David your father walked, in integrity of heart and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my statutes and my ordinances,


“Please YHWH, remember how I have walked before you in truth and with a whole heart, and have done that which is good in your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.


You, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for YHWH searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.


and give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.”


YHWH was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and didn’t seek the Baals,


He did that which was right in YHWH’s eyes, but not with a perfect heart.


He did that which was right in YHWH’s eyes, and walked in the ways of David his father, and didn’t turn away to the right hand or to the left.


“You must have no other gods before me.


He must not accumulate wives for himself, so that his heart won’t turn away. He must accumulate excessive silver and gold for himself.


For they will turn away your sons from me to serve other gods. So YHWH’s anger would burn against y’all, and ʜᴇ would destroy y’all quickly.
