The sons of Cush were: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah were: Sheba and Dedan.


Jokshan became the father of Sheba, and Dedan. The sons of Dedan were Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim.


All the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom which God had put in his heart.


For he was wiser than all men—wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol. And his fame was in all the nations all around.


People of all nations came to hear the wisdom of Solomon, sent by all kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.


He sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: for a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home; and Adoniram was over the men subject to forced labor.


To humankind he said, ‘The fear of the Lord, that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.’”


The caravans of Tema looked. The companies of Sheba waited for them.


I will turn my ear to a proverb. I will explain my riddle on the harp.


The kings of Tarshish and of the islands bring tribute. The kings of Sheba and Seba offer gifts.


He will live; and Sheba’s gold will be given to him. Men will pray for him continually. They will bless him all day long.


A multitude of camels will cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah. All from Sheba will come. They will bring gold and frankincense, and will proclaim the praises of YHWH.


To what purpose does frankincense from Sheba come to me, and the sweet cane from a far country? Y’all’s burnt offerings are not acceptable, and y’all’s sacrifices are not pleasing to me.”


Your renown went out among the nations for your beauty; for it was perfect, through my majesty which I had put on you,” says Lord YHWH.


Sheba, Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all its young lions, will ask you, ‘Have you come to take the plunder? Have you assembled your company to take the prey, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?’”’


The Queen of the South will rise up in judgment with this generation and will condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon. And look! Something greater than Solomon is here.


He answered them, “Y’all have been granted to know the mysteries of the Empire of Heaven, but it has not been granted to them.


This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet, “I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.”


He didn’t speak to them without a parable; but privately he explained everything to his own disciples.


The Queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with the people of this generation and will condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and now something greater than Solomon is here!


This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.
