25 For today he has gone down, and has slaughtered cattle, fatlings, and sheep in abundance, and has called all the king’s sons, the captains of the army, and Abiathar the priest. Look! They are eating and drinking before him, and saying, ‘Long live King Adonijah!’

When Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, had come to Absalom, Hushai said to Absalom, “Long live the king! Long live the king!”


He has slaughtered cattle and fatlings and sheep in abundance, and has called all the sons of the king, Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the army, but he hasn’t called Solomon your servant.


Nathan said, “My lord, King, did you say, ‘Adonijah will reign after me, and he is to sit on my throne?’


Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet are to anoint him there king over Israel. Y’all blow the trumpet, and say, ‘Long live King Solomon!’


Zadok the priest took the horn of oil from the Tent, and anointed Solomon. They blew the trumpet, and all the people said, “Long live King Solomon!”


Adonijah killed sheep, cattle, and fatlings by the stone of Zoheleth, which is beside En Rogel; and he called all his brothers, the king’s sons, and all the men of Judah, the king’s servants;

Then he brought out the king’s son, and put the crown on him, and gave him the covenant, and they made him king. They anointed him and clapped their hands, and said, “Long live the king!”


She looked and there was the king stood by the pillar, as the tradition was, with the captains and the trumpets by the king. All the people of the land rejoiced, and blew trumpets. Then Athaliah tore her clothes and cried, “Treason! Treason!”


Then they hurried, and each man took his cloak, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, “Jehu is king.”


Now therefore, our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name.


They sacrificed sacrifices to YHWH and offered burnt offerings to YHWH on the next day after that day, even one thousand bulls, one thousand rams, and one thousand lambs, with their drink offerings and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel,


Then they brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, gave him the covenant, and made him king. Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and they said, “Long live the king!”


The crowds who went in front of him and those who followed were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord [YHWH]! Hosanna in the highest!”


Then he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Y’all tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner. My oxen and my fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Y’all come to the wedding feast!”’


“Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord [YHWH]! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”


Samuel said to all the people, “Do y’all see the one YHWH has chosen? There is no one like him among all the people?” All the people shouted and said, “Long live the king!”
