Then, while she was still talking with the king, Nathan the prophet came in.


Nathan said, “My lord, King, did you say, ‘Adonijah will reign after me, and he is to sit on my throne?’


Therefore y’all pay everyone what is due to them: if taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.


Y’all are to honor all people and love the family of siblings. Y’all are to fear God and honor the emperor.


As soon as the boy was gone, David arose out of the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times. They kissed one another and wept with one another, and David wept the most.
