Then Nathan spoke to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, “Haven’t you heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith reigns, and David our lord doesn’t know it?


While you are still talking there with the king, I will come in after you and confirm your words.”


She said to him, “My lord, you swore by YHWH your God to your servant, ‘Surely Solomon your son will reign after me, and he is to sit on my throne.’


Nathan said, “My lord, King, did you say, ‘Adonijah will reign after me, and he is to sit on my throne?’


most certainly as I swore to you by YHWH, the God of Israel, saying, ‘Surely Solomon your son will reign after me, and he is to sit on my throne in my place,’ I will most certainly do this today.”


Then y’all are go up with him, and he will come and sit on my throne. He is to be king in my place. I have appointed him to be prince over Israel and over Judah.”


Also thus said the king, ‘Blessed be YHWH, the God of Israel, who has given one to sit on my throne today, my eyes even seeing it.’”


Solomon sat on David his father’s throne; and his kingdom was firmly established.


Of all my sons (for YHWH has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of YHWH’s kingdom over Israel.


Then Solomon sat on the throne of YHWH as king instead of David his father. He prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.


Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on David’s throne, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of YHWH Almighty will perform this.


then my covenant could also be broken with David my servant, that he won’t have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levitical priests, my ministers.


When he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he is to write himself a copy of this law in a book, out of that which is before the Levitical priests.
