Jacob called the name of the place Peniel; for he said, “I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”


He said, “You cannot see my face, for man may not see me and live.”


With him, I will speak mouth to mouth, clearly, not in riddles; and he will see the form of YHWH. Why then were y’all not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?”


No one has ever seen God, but the only begotten God, who is in the bosom of the Father, has made ʜɪᴍ known.


But now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.


Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.


He alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no human has seen nor can see, to whom be honor and eternal power. Amen.


By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s wrath. He persevered, because he saw the invisible one.


But whoever keeps ʜɪꜱ word, the love of God has truly been perfected in them. This is how we know that we are in ʜɪᴍ:


Anyone who keeps ʜɪꜱ commandments remains in ʜɪᴍ, and ʜᴇ in that person. By this we know that ʜᴇ remains in us, by the Spirit which ʜᴇ gave us.


We have come to know and have believed the love God has for us. God is love, and anyone who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in them.


Anyone who says, “I love God,” but hates their sibling, is a liar. For whoever doesn’t love their sibling whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen.


We are of God, and whoever knows God listens to us, but anyone who is not from God doesn’t listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
