¶ Herod the king, after he had heard this, was troubled, and all Ierusalem with him,


And the people said: this is Iesus the prophet of Nazareth a city of Galilee.


Moreover the people that went before, and they also that came after cried saying: Hosianna to the son of David. Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord, hosianna in the hyest.


And spake unto him, saying: Tell us by what authority thou doest these things? Other who is he that gave thee this authority?


And the scribes, and the pharises, began to think saying: What fellow is this: which speaketh blasphemy? Who can forgive sins, but God only?


And they that sat at meat with him, began to say within themselves: Who is this which forgiveth sins also?


And Herod said: Ihon have I beheaded: who is this of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.


¶ Then answered the jewes and said unto him: what token shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou dost these things?


And he said what art thou Lord? The Lord said, I am Iesus whom thou persecutest, it shall be hard for thee to kick against the prick.
