1 ¶ Then came to Iesus: scribes and pharises from Ierusalem, saying:

saying: The scribes and the pharises sit in Moses' seat,


¶ For I say unto you except your righteousness exceed the righteousness of the scribes and pharises, ye cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven.


And the scribes which came from Ierusalem, said: he hath Beelzebub, and by the power of the chief devil, casteth out devils.


¶ And it happened on a certain day, that he taught, and there sat the pharises, and doctors of law, which were come out of all the towns of Galile, Jewry, and Ierusalem, and the power of the Lord was to heal them.


And the scribes, and the pharises, began to think saying: What fellow is this: which speaketh blasphemy? Who can forgive sins, but God only?


And the scribes and pharises murmured against his disciples, saying: Why eat ye and drink ye, with publicans and sinners?


¶ And this is the record of Ihon: When the jewes sent priests, and levites from Ierusalem, to ask him, what art thou?


And there arose a great cry, and the scribes which were of the pharyses' part strove saying: We find none evil in this man. Though a spirit, or an angel hath appeared to him, let us not strive against God.


When he was come the jewes which were come from Ierusalem, came about him and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove
