why do thy disciples transgress the traditions of the seniors? for they wash not their hands, when they eat bread.


and thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect through your own traditions which ye have ordained. And many such things ye do.


for ye lay the commandment of God apart, and ye observe the traditions of men as the washing of cruses and of cups, and many other such like things ye do.


¶ And he said unto them: well, ye put away the commandment of God, to maintain your own traditions.


And they are informed of thee that thou teachest all the jewes which are among the gentiles to forsake Moses, and sayest that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to live after the customs.


Them take and purify thyself with them, and do cost on them, that they may shave their heads and all shall know that those things which they have heard of thee are nothing: but that thou thyself also walkest and keepest the law.


And that he might be the father of the circumcised: not because they are circumcised only: but because they walk also in the steps of that faith, which was in our father Abraham before the time of circumcision.


and prevailed in the jewes' law, above many of my companions, which were of mine own nation, and was a much more fervently maintained the traditions of the elders.


We have heard say no doubt that there are some which walk among you inordinately, and work not at all, but are busybodies.


¶ We require you brethren in the name of our Lord Iesu Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh inordinately, and not after the institution which ye received of us.
