Pilate said unto them: What evil hath he done? And they cried the more fervently: Crucify him.


And the people stood and beheld. ¶ And the rulers mocked him with them saying: He help other men, let him help himself if he be Christ the chosen of God.


And how the high priests, and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death: and have crucified him.


Nevertheless among the chief rulers many believed on him, but because of the pharises they would not be a known of it, lest they should be excommunicated.


Pilate said unto him: what is truth? ¶ And when he had said that, he went out again unto the jewes, and said unto them: I find in him no cause at all.


Pilate went forth again, and said unto them: behold I bring him forth to you, that ye may know, that I find no fault in him.


¶ There was a man of the pharises named Nicodemus a ruler among the jewes.


behold he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing to him. Do not our rulers know indeed, that this is very Christ?


Doth any of the rulers, or of the pharises believe on him?


The inhabiters of Ierusalem, and their rulers because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every saboth day, have fulfilled them in condemning him.


¶ And now brethren I wot well that thorow ignorance ye have done it, as did also your heads.


¶ It chanced on the morrow that their rulers, and seniors, and scribes,
