and were baptised of him in Iordan, knowledging their sins.


For and if ye shall forgive other men their trespasses, your father in heaven shall also forgive you.


After this manner therefore pray ye. ¶ O our father, which art in heaven hallowed be thy name.


If ye then which are evil, can give to your children good gifts: how much more shall your father, which is in heaven, give good things, to them that ask of him?


And he said unto them: When ye pray, say: Our father which art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. Let thy kingdom come. Thy will, be fulfilled, even in earth as it is in heaven.


¶ Then he came to himself and said: how many hired servants at my father's have bread enough, and I die for hunger.


now am I not worthy to be called thy son, make me as one of thy hired servants.


And the son said unto him: father I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, neither am I worthy henceforth to be called thy son.


And the publican stood afar off, and would not lift up his eyes to heaven, but smote his breast, saying: God be mercyfull to me a sinner.
