¶ As they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the high captain of the soldiers, that all Ierusalem was moved.


When he came unto a grece, it fortuned that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.


¶ And when there arose great debate, the captain fearing lest Paul should have been plucked asunder of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him from among them, and to bring him into the castle.


And he called unto him two under captains, saying: make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Cesarea, and horsemen threescore and ten. And spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night.


Which also hath enforced to pollute the temple, whom we took and would have judged according to our law:


commanding his accusers to come unto thee, of whom thou mayest (if thou wilt enquire) know the certain of all these things where of we accuse him.
