And he was in agony, and prayed somewhat longer. And his sweat was like drops of blood, trickling down to the ground.


¶ Then pleased it the apostles and seniors with the whole congregation to send chosen men of their own company to Antioche with Paul and Barnabas. They sent Iudas called also Barsabas and Silas which were chief men among the brethren


¶ When her master and masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and brought them into the market place unto the rulers,


And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds, and was baptised with all that belonged unto him straight way.


¶ And they departed from the council rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer rebuke for his name.


Apply yourselves to the time. Rejoice in hope. Be patient in tribulation, continue in prayer.


Neither do we so only: but also we rejoice in tribulation: For we know that tribulation bringeth patience,


as sorrowing and yet alwaye merry: as poor and yet make many rich: as having no thing and yet possessing all things.


speaking unto yourselves in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts,


Yee and though I be offered up on your sacrifice and of your serving of God in the faith: I rejoice and rejoice with you all.


¶ Now joy I in my passions which I suffer for you, and fulfil that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the congregation,


Which in the days of his flesh, did offer up prayers and supplications, with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death: and was also heard, because he had God in reverence.


My brethren, count it exceeding joy when ye fall into diverse temptations,


Is there any among of you that is evil vexed? let him pray. Is there any among you that is merry? let him sing psalms.


¶ Happy are ye when ye suffer rebuke for the name of Christ. For the spirit of glory and the spirit of God resteth upon you. On their part he is evil spoken of: but on your part he is glorified.
