And he went away a little apart, and fell flat on his face, and prayed saying: O my father, if it possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.


¶ He went away once more, and prayed, saying: O my father, if this cup cannot pass away from me, but that I drink of it, thy will be fulfilled.


but bade them fare well saying: I must needs at this feast that cometh be in Ierusalem: but I will return again unto you if God will.


When we could not turn his mind, we ceased saying: The will of the Lord be fulfilled.


in the which time ye shall rejoice, though now for a season (if need require) ye are in heaviness, throwe many fold temptations,


For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye should stop the mouths of ignorant men:


For what praise is it, if when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye take it patiently? But and if when ye do well, ye suffer wrong and take it patiently, then is there thanke with God.


notwithstanding happy are ye if ye suffer for righteousness' sake. Nevertheless fear not though they seem terrible unto you, neither be troubled:


¶ See that none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or an evil doer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.


Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God, commit their souls to him with well doing, as unto a faithful creator.
