I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance; but he that cometh after me is mightier than I; whose shoes I am not worthy to bear; he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:


And there went out to him all the land of Judea, and all they of Jerusalem, and were baptized of him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.


And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.


whether he were not the Christ, John answered saying to them all, I indeed baptize you with water, but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:


For John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost, not many days hence.


Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, John indeed baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.


And many of those who believed came, confessing and openly declaring their deeds.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful, and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
