But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answering said to him, I adjure thee by the living God, to tell us, if thou art the Christ, the Son of God?


And sitting down, they guarded him there, And set up over his head his accusation written,


Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son God, come down from the cross.


let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God: let him deliver him now if he will have him; for he said, I am the Son of God.


And behold the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom, and the earth was shaken and the rocks were torn asunder: And the tombs were opened,


And the tempter coming to him said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.


And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came to him a centurion,


And the centurion, who stood over-against him, seeing that having so cried he expired, said, Truly this man was the Son of God.


And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God?


The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.


And there was a certain man in Cesarea, named Cornelius, a centurion of that called the Italian band,


And hearing this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what shall we do?


Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down to them; and when they saw the tribune and the soldiers, they ceased from beating Paul.


And Paul calling to him one of the centurions, said, Conduct this young man to the tribune; for he hath something to tell him.


And having called to him two of the centurions, he said, Prepare two hundred soldiers to go to Cesarea, and seventy horsemen and two hundred spearmen, by the third hour of the night.


And as soon as it was determined, that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul, and certain other prisoners, to a centurion named Julius, of the Augustan Cohort.


But the centurion, being desirous to save Paul, hindered them from their purpose, and commanded those that could swim, throwing themselves into the sea, first to get away to land,


who was of the seed of David, according to the flesh, But declared the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead,


And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and there were slain in the earthquake seven thousand men, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
