And he that taketh not his cross and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.


And coming out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.


Then Jesus looking upon him, loved him, and said to him, One thing thou lackest: Go, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me, taking up thy cross.


And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who was passing by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.


And when he had called the people to him, with his disciples also, he said to them, Whosoever is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.


And whosoever doth not bear his cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple.


And as they led him away, they laid hold on one Simon a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.


And they took Jesus and led him away. And he bearing his cross, went forth to the place, called the place of a skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha:


This he said, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And having said this, he saith to him, Follow me.


Jesus saith to him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is it to thee?


Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith; and that we must through many tribulations enter into the kingdom of God.


Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh that which is behind of the sufferings of Christ for his body, which is the church:


That no one might be moved by these afflictions; for ye know that we are appointed hereto.


Yea and all that are resolved to live godly in Christ Jesus, shall suffer persecution.


For even hereunto are ye called; for Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye might follow his steps:
