Jesus said to the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?


But what went ye out to see? A prophet? Yea, I say to you, and more than a prophet.


And this John had his raiment of camels hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his food was locusts and wild honey.


A reed shaken by the wind? But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold they that are splendidly apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings palaces.


Even to this present hour, we both hunger and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain abode, And labour, working with our own hands:


In labour and toil, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.


And I will give to my two witnesses to prophesy twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.
