While he sat on the judgment-seat, his wife sent to him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man; for I have suffered many things to-day in a dream because of him.


Saying, I have sinned, in betraying innocent blood.


And the centurion and they that were with him, guarding Jesus, seeing the earthquake and the things that were done, feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.


And they cried out again, Crucify him. Then Pilate said to them, Why, what evil hath he done?


And Pilate, willing to satisfy the people, released Barabbas to them, and having scourged Jesus, delivered him to be crucified.


But they cried, saying, Crucify, crucify him. He said to them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done?


And he answering him said, Thou sayest. Then said Pilate to the chief priests and the multitude, I find no fault in this man.


And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this person hath done nothing amiss.


And the centurion seeing what was done, glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.


Every one that is of the truth, heareth my voice. Pilate saith to him, What is truth? And having said this, he went out again to the Jews, and saith to them, I find no fault in him.


But when the chief priests and the officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify, crucify him. Pilate saith to them, Take ye him and crucify him; for I find no fault in him.


And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate, that he might be put to death.


But when they knew that he was a Jew, one voice arose from them all, crying out, for about two hours, The great Diana of the Ephesians.


For such an high priest became us, holy, harmless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens:


But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot,
