Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any man be willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.


Jesus saith to him, If thou desirest to be perfect, go, sell what thou hast and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.


But he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved; for he had great possessions.


And when he had called the people to him, with his disciples also, he said to them, Whosoever is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.


But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken from her.


Sell what ye have and give alms: provide yourselves purses which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.


And I say to you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness, that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.


Sell all that thou hast, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.

But I have a few things against thee, that thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling-block before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication.


But I have against thee, that thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, who callest herself a prophetess, and teacheth and seduceth my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.


But I have against thee, that thou hast left thy first love.
