the day before the sabbath) Joseph of Arimathea, an honourable counsellor, who also waited for the kingdom of God, came and went in boldly to Pilate, and asked the body of Jesus.


And when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb: and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost,


And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.


And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel;


And she coming in at that hour, gave thanks to the Lord, and spake of him to all that were waiting for redemption in Jerusalem.


(He had not consented to the counsel and deed of them) of Arimathea, a city of the Jews, who also himself waited for the kingdom of God:


A devout man, and fearing God with all his house, who gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.


And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and fearing God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned of God by an holy angel, to send for thee to his house, and to hear words from thee.


And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.


And for this cause do I exercise myself to have always a conscience void of offence toward God and toward man.


For prophecy never came by the will of man, but the holy men of God spake being moved by the Holy Ghost.
