And ye are witnesses of these things. And behold I send the promise of my Father upon you:


Beginning from the baptism of John, till the day that he was taken up from us, one must be ordained, to be a witness with us of his resurrection.


But ye shall receive power, the Holy Ghost being come upon you, and shall be witnesses to me, both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth.

And when they had ordained them presbyters in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they had believed.


And being come to Jerusalem, they were received by the church, and the apostles, and elders; and they declared all things which God had done with them.


And the apostles and elders came together, to consider of this matter.


This Jesus God hath raised up, whereof all we are witnesses.


And sending to Ephesus from Miletus, he called thither the elders of the church.


Take heed therefore to yourselves and to the whole flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.


And the next day, Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present.


But ye killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead, whereof we are witnesses.


For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.


We behave undauntedly, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and present with the Lord.


For I know that this shall turn to my salvation, through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ:


Rebuke not an elder, but exhort him as a father, the younger men as brethren;


Against an elder receive not an accusation, unless by two or three witnesses.


Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge will render me in that day, and not to me only, but to all them likewise that have loved his appearing.


For this cause I left thee in Crete, that thou mightest set in order the things which remain, and ordain elders in every city, as I appointed thee:


Yet out of love I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also the prisoner of Jesus Christ.


Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which easily besetteth us, and run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith;


To whom it was revealed, that not for themselves, but for us they ministered the things which have been now declared to you by them that have preached the gospel to you, with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven: which things angels desire to look into.


That the trial of your faith, which is much more precious than gold, (that perisheth, tho' it be tried with fire) may be found unto praise, and honour, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,


rejoice, that when his glory shall be revealed, ye may likewise rejoice with exceeding great joy.


And when the chief shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive the crown of glory that fadeth not away.


Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know, when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.


The elder unto the elect Kuria and her children, whom I love in the truth, and not I only, but likewise all who know the truth, For the truth's sake,


The elder unto the well-beloved Caius, whom I truly love.


I John, your brother and companion in the affliction, and in the kingdom, and patience of Jesus, was in the island Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus.
