Why, Adonai, are You standing far off? Why hide Yourself in times of trouble?


My soul clings to the dust. Revive me according to Your word!


Adonai, why do You spurn me? Why do You hide Your face from me?


Then I will put it into the hand of your tormentors, who said to you, ‘Lie down, so we may walk over you.’ You have made your back like the ground and like a street for passersby.


Those who used to eat delicacies are desolate in the streets. Those who were brought up in purple embrace trash heaps.
