Adonai protects the simple-hearted. When I was brought low, He saved me.


He remembered us in our lowly estate, for His lovingkindness endures forever,


For an enemy pursues my soul. He crushes my life down to the ground. He makes me dwell in darkness, like those long dead.


Answer me speedily, Adonai— my spirit fails. Hide not Your face from me, lest I become like those who go down into the Pit.


A prayer of David. Hear, Adonai, a just plea, listen to my cry! Give ear to my prayer— from lips with no deceit.


He reached down from on high and took hold of me. He drew me out of mighty waters.


Surely I trust that I will see the goodness of Adonai in the land of the living.

So I confess my guilt. I am troubled because of my sin.


God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.


Deliver me from workers of iniquity. Rescue me from bloodthirsty men.


Do not hold against us the sins of our fathers. May Your mercies come quickly to meet us, for we are brought very low.


I will say of Adonai, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.


Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.


But in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.


Whom has the king of Israel come after? Who are you chasing? A dead dog? A single flea?
