Then Jehoahaz sought Adonai’s face, so Adonai listened to him, for He saw the oppression of Israel, how the king of Aram oppressed them.


From the city men groan, and the souls of the wounded cry out; yet God charges no one with folly.


who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives bread to the hungry. Adonai sets the prisoners free.


Let the prisoner’s groan come to You. By Your great arm preserve those who are doomed to die.


Then Adonai said, “I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their slave masters, for I know their pains.


who made the world a wilderness and destroyed its cities, who never opened the house of his prisoners?”


Look down from Your holy dwelling place, from the heavens and bless Your people Israel and the soil You have given us, as You swore to our fathers—a land flowing with milk and honey.’
