One who is slack in his work is brother to one who destroys.


Laziness brings on deep sleep, and an idle soul will starve.


Do not love sleep, lest you become poor. Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with food.


Then I took to heart what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw:


then your poverty comes tramping in, and your need like an armed soldier.


As a door turns on its hinges so a slacker turns on his bed.


The fool folds his hands together and eats his own flesh.


Besides this, you know the time—that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first came to trust.


for everything made visible is light. This is why it says, “Wake up, O sleeper! Rise from the dead, and Messiah will shine on you.”
