honey, curd, sheep and cheese from the herd for David and for the people who were with him to eat. For they said, “The people must be hungry, weary and thirsty in the wilderness.”


Good comes to a man who is gracious and lends. He will order his affairs with fairness.


He gives freely to the poor. His righteousness endures forever. His horn is lifted high in honor.


All day long he is gracious and lends. So his offspring will be a blessing.


Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.


The one who steals must steal no longer—instead he must work, doing something useful with his own hands, so he may have something to share with the one who has need.
