Then King Solomon swore by Adonai saying: “May God do so to me and even more, if Adonijah does not pay with his own life for this request!


Now therefore, as Adonai lives who has established me and set me on the throne of my father David, and who has made me a house as He promised, surely Adonijah shall be put to death this day.”


A king’s wrath is like a roaring lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.


But whoever fails to find me harms his life— all who hate me love death.”


If a ruler’s spirit rises up against you, do not leave your post, for composure allays great offences.


They will walk after Adonai. He will roar like a lion. Indeed, He will roar and the children will come trembling from the west.


A lion has roared, who will not fear? My Lord Adonai has spoken, who shall not prophesy?


You schemed shame for your house, by cutting off many peoples, so going wrong yourself.


As for the censers of these men who sinned at the cost of their lives, let them be taken and hammered into sheets as a covering for the altar. For they were presented before Adonai, so they are holy. They are to be a sign to Bnei-Yisrael.”
