The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son gives joy to his father, but a foolish son grief to his mother.


He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.


A wise servant will rule over a disgraceful son and will share the inheritance with the brothers.


A foolish son is grief to his father and bitterness to her that bore him.


My son, if you stop heeding instruction, you will stray from words of knowledge.


Blessed is one who is always cautious, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into trouble.


Whoever robs his father or his mother, and says, “It’s not a crime,” is a partner to him who destroys.


He who keeps Torah is a discerning son, but a companion of gluttons disgraces his father.
