All their wealth, their little children, and their wives they captured and plundered, as well as everything that was in the houses.


Therefore Adonai his God gave him into the hand of the king of Aram who defeated him and took away from him many prisoners and brought them to Damascus. He was also given into the hand of the king of Israel, who inflicted many casualties on him.


They burned with fire all the Midianite cities, settlements, as well as all their camps.


Each of the men of the army had taken plunder for himself.


Among the slain they also killed the Midianite kings: Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba, the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.


Only the women, children, livestock and all that is in the city—all its spoil—may you take as plunder for yourself. So you may consume your enemies’ spoil, which Adonai your God has given you.
