For fire went out from Heshbon, a blaze from the city of Sihon! It consumed Ar of Moab, the masters of Arnon’s heights!


Balak sacrificed cattle and sheep and sent some to Balaam and the princes who were with him.


Then Balaam said to Balak, “Build me seven altars here and prepare for me here seven bulls and seven rams.”


Then Balak said to him, “Come now with me to another place where you can see a part of them only, not all of them. Curse them for me from there.”


You must utterly destroy all the places where the nations that you will dispossess served their gods—on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree.
