but Jacob journeyed to Sukkot and built a house for himself, and for his livestock he made booths. That is the reason that place is called Sukkot.


They also kept the Feast of Sukkot as it is written and offered the prescribed number of daily burnt offerings according to the requirement for each day.


On the second day, the heads of the families along with the kohanim and the Levites gathered around Ezra to ponder the words of the Torah.


“Speak to Bnei-Yisrael, and say, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the Feast of Sukkot, for seven days to Adonai.


Now the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near.
