Blessed be Adonai, the God of our fathers, who has put it into the heart of the king to beautify the House of Adonai in Jerusalem in this way


I came to Jerusalem, and after I was there for three days,


By night I went out by the Valley Gate toward Jackal Spring and the Dung Gate, inspecting the walls of Jerusalem, which had been broken down, and its gates, which had been destroyed by fire.


Pray for the peace of Jerusalem— “May those who love you be at peace!


For You would not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it, nor be pleased by burnt offerings.


A clever person conceals his knowledge, but the heart of a fool blurts out folly.


a time to tear apart and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak;


No longer will each teach his neighbor or each his brother, saying: ‘Know Adonai,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest.” it is a declaration of Adonai. “For I will forgive their iniquity, their sin I will remember no more.”


I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never turn away from doing good for them. I will put My fear in their hearts, so that they will not depart from Me.


Therefore the prudent keep silent at such a time —for it is a distressful time.


Do not trust in a friend. Do not trust in a close companion. Guard the openings of your mouth from her who lies on your breast.


“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
