“If a man sins against his neighbor and is required to swear an oath, and he comes and takes an oath before Your altar in this House,


Whenever a man makes a vow to Adonai or swears an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he is not to violate his word but do everything coming out of his mouth.


“Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘Whoever swears by the Temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the Temple, he is obligated.’


O fools and blind ones! Which is greater, the gold or the Temple that made the gold holy?


O blind ones! Which is greater, the offering or the altar that makes the offering holy?


But you say if anyone tells his father or mother, ‘Whatever you might have gained from me is korban (that is, an offering to God),’


Again I testify to every man who lets himself be circumcised, that he is obligated to keep the whole Torah.
