These are the years of Ishmael’s life: 137 years. He breathed his last, died and was gathered to his peoples.

He pled the case of the poor and weak, so it went well. Is not this knowledge of Me?” It is a declaration of Adonai.


Thus says Adonai, who gives the sun as a light by day and the fixed order of the moon and the stars as a light by night, who stirs up the sea so its waves roar, Adonai-Tzva’ot is His Name:


They bend their tongue like a bow. Lies, not faithfulness, prevail in the land. “For they go from evil to evil and do not know Me,” says Adonai.


Beware, everyone, of your neighbor! Don’t even trust a brother. For every brother grabs like Jacob and every neighbor spreads slander.


“You dwell in the midst of deceit. In deceit they refuse to know Me.” It is a declaration of Adonai.


When you have seen it, you will be gathered to your people, just as Aaron your brother was gathered.

They claim to know God but their deeds deny Him. They are despicable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.


Israel worshipped Adonai all the days of Joshua and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua and had known all the work of Adonai that He had done for Israel.


Now Eli’s sons were worthless men; they did not acknowledge Adonai.
