There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job. Now that man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.


though You know that I am not guilty, yet there is no one to deliver from Your hand?


“I have become a laughingstock to my friend, though I called on God and He answered— a righteous and blameless man is a laughingstock!


See now, I have prepared my case; I know that I will be vindicated.


‘I am pure, without transgression; I am innocent, without iniquity.


that God would be willing to crush me, to release His hand, and cut me off!


Why do You not pardon my transgression, and take away my iniquity? For now I will lie down in the dust, and You will search for me, but I will be gone.”


Even if I were right, I would not answer; I would implore the mercy of my Judge.


Whoever trusts in his own heart is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will escape.


For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this. It is the Lord who judges me.


whenever our heart condemns us. For God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
