The scepter will not pass from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he to whom it belongs will come. To him will be the obedience of the peoples.


But man dies and is powerless. Man expires—and where is he?


that the triumph of the wicked is short and the joy of the godless is but for a moment?


that the wicked are spared for the day of calamity that they are brought to the day of wrath?


They are exalted for a little while and then they are gone; they are brought low and gathered up like all others, they are like heads of grain they wither.


For I know that you will bring me to death, to the house appointed for all the living.


Why do You not pardon my transgression, and take away my iniquity? For now I will lie down in the dust, and You will search for me, but I will be gone.”


The eye that sees me now will see me no more; your eyes will be on me, but I will be no more.


Those who hate you will be clothed with shame. The tent of the wicked will be no more!”


Like a slug melting away as it slithers, like a woman’s miscarriage, may they never see the sun.


Do not wear yourself out to get rich. Be wise enough to restrain yourself.


When you cast your eyes 0n riches, it is gone; for it surely sprouts wings and flies off into the sky like an eagle.


They will spread them out to the sun, the moon and all the host of heaven, which they have loved and served, and after which they have walked and sought, and which they have worshipped. They will not be gathered or buried, but will be like dung on the face of the ground.


“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem who kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!


His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He shall clear His threshing floor and gather His wheat into the barn; but the chaff He shall burn up with inextinguishable fire.”
