He exiled to Babylon those who had escaped the sword and they became slaves to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia—


Now these are the people of the province who went up from the captives of the exile, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had taken captive to Babylon. They returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his town.


These are the people of the province who returned from the captivity of the exile, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had taken away, and who returned to Jerusalem and to Judah, each man to his own town.


The towns of the South will be shut up, with no one to open them. All Judah is taken into exile— utterly swept into exile.


in Nebuchadnez­zar’s eighteenth year, 832 people from Jerusalem;


Her foes have become her masters. Her enemies are at ease. For Adonai has afflicted her, because of her many transgressions. Her children have gone away as captives before the adversary.


Say, ‘I am a sign for you. Just as I have done, so it will be done to them—they will go into exile, into captivity.
