Then Ben-Hadad sent word to him again saying, “May the gods do so to me and even more, if the dust of Samaria will suffice for handfuls for all the people at my feet.”


The king of Israel answered and said, “Tell him: ‘Let not the one who puts on his armor boast like the one who takes it off.”


He said, “Whether they are coming out for peace, take them alive, or whether they are coming out for battle, take them alive.”


You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.


The enemy said, “I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil. My lust shall gorge on them! I will draw my sword— my hand will destroy them.”


For everything there is a season and a time for every activity under heaven:


Now Egyptians are men and not God, and their horses are flesh, not spirit. When Adonai stretches out His hand, both he who helps will stumble and he who is helped will fall, and both will perish together.


speak and say, thus says Adonai Elohim: ‘Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh King of Egypt, the great crocodile lying in his rivers, who says: “My Nile is my own —I made it for myself.”


‘Who is like you in glory and greatness among the trees of Eden? You will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the lowest parts of the earth. You will lie among the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword.’ This is Pharaoh and all his multitude.” It is a declaration of Adonai.
