Pursuers of wicked schemes draw near— they are far from Your Torah.


Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek after Your decrees.


For my heart is filled with burning pain, and there is no health in my body.


Give ear, O God, to my prayer and do not ignore my plea for help.


Let me hear what God Adonai will say. For He will speak shalom to His people, and to His kedoshim— but let them not turn back to folly.


Like a swallow or a crane, I whisper, I moan like a dove. My eyes are weary, looking upward. Adonai, I am oppressed, be my security!


Your sons have fainted. They lie at every street corner, like an antelope in a net. They are full of Adonai’s fury, the rebuke of your God.


Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far off. For truth has stumbled in the street, and uprightness cannot enter.


They do not know the path of peace, and there is no justice in their tracks. They have made their paths crooked. Whoever walks in them will not experience shalom.


That is why justice is far from us and righteousness does not reach us. We hope for light, but behold darkness, for brightness, but walk in gloom.


We hoped for shalom, but it is no good, for a time of healing —and suddenly, terror!”


If only I had a travelers’ lodging place in the wilderness, then I might leave my people and get away from them! For they are all adulterers, a bunch of traitors.


My soul has been deprived of shalom, I have forgotten goodness.


Those survivors who escape will head for the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, each one over his iniquity.


Nor did they not cry to Me in their heart when they were wailing on their beds. For the sake of grain and new wine they slash themselves— they keep turning away from Me.


The river gates will be opened, and the palace will melt away.


What was erected will be exiled and carried away. Her handmaids are lamenting like the sound of doves, beating their breasts.
