He spoke, and a swarm of gnats came within all their borders.


He sent on them flies to devour them, and frogs to devastate them,


So I have said to you, Let My son go, that he may serve Me, but you have refused to let him go. Behold, I will slay your son, your firstborn.’”


Afterward, Moses and Aaron went and said to Pharaoh, “This is what Adonai, God of Israel, says: Let My people go, so that they may hold a feast for Me in the wilderness.”


Then Adonai said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh. As he comes to the water say to him, This is what Adonai says: Let My people go, that they may serve Me.


Adonai-Tzva’ot has planned it, to defile the pride of all glory, to shame all the honored of earth.


Immediately, an angel of the Lord struck him down—because he did not give God the glory. And he was eaten by worms and died.
