Then Jacob asked and said, “Please tell me Your name.” But He said, “What’s this—you are asking My name?” Then He blessed him there.


They saw the God of Israel, and under His feet was something like a pavement of sapphire, as clear as the very heavens.


Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up.


Moreover He said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” So Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.


Then he said, “Please, show me Your glory!”


Then I will take away My hand, and you will see My back, but My face will not be seen.”


Then I said: “Oy to me! For I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I am dwelling among a people of unclean lips. For my eyes have seen the King, Adonai-Tzva’ot!”


No one has ever seen God; but the one and only God, in the Father’s embrace, has made Him known.


You go near and hear all that Adonai our God says. Then you tell us all what Adonai our God tells you, and we will hear it and do it.’


who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or is able to see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.


But to which of the angels has He ever said, “Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet”?


Manoah said to his wife, “We will surely die, because we have seen God.”
