There the wicked cease from turmoil, and there the weary are at rest.


It is like the precious oil upon the head, coming down upon the beard —Aaron’s beard— coming down on the collar of his robes.


Bright eyes bring joy to the heart. Good news gives health to the bones.


A good name is to be chosen rather than great wealth, and grace rather than silver or gold.


or the one who hears it will shame you, and you will never lose your bad reputation.


As ointment and perfume gladden the heart, so the sweetness of one’s friend comes from his sincere counsel.


Dead flies make a perfumer’s oil stink, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.

Better the end of a matter than its beginning. Better a patient spirit than a proud one.
