In the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer came with the kings who were with him, and they defeated the Rephaim in Ashterot-karnaim, the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh-kiryataim,


“You gave them kingdoms and peoples and You allotted them their boundaries of the land. They possessed the land of Sihon king of Heshbon and the country of Og king of Bashan.


Sihon, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan,


Across the Jordan in the land of Moab, Moses began to explain this Torah saying,


“So I sent messengers from the wilderness of Kedemoth to Sihon king of Heshbon with words of shalom saying,


“Next we turned and went up the way to the Bashan. King Og of the Bashan came out against us—he and all his people—for battle at Edrei.


We utterly destroyed them, just as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every city—men, women and children.


They took possession of his land and the land of Og king of the Bashan, the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan toward the east—
